Dear Oxonians, two good dudes will be performing tunes at Red Star tomorrow night. New Jersey native
JULIAN LYNCH splits his time between working at a Ph.D in ethnomusicology and building a prolific collection of homemade experimental pop recordings. He uses diverse instrumentation to create warm and inviting sounds fit for soundtracking front porch hang sessions with friends or cannonballs into the neighborhood pool. His gorgeous new album MARE is out now on the excellent label
OLDE ENGLISH SPELLING BEE (Ducktails, James Ferraro, Rangers). Check out a video for the soothing track "In New Jersey"
HERE and Pitchfork's glowing review of the album
HERE.
Opening the show will be local breezy listening Paw Tracks popster
DENT MAY, testing out the waters for some new electronic sounds and reimagining some of his ukulele-era favorites. Check out a summery smooth mix he put together
HERE, dedicated to Pickwick Lake and posted by the promising new Brooklyn-based
INTERNATIONAL TAPES.
Doors are at 9:30pm. Music starts at 10:30 sharp. Cover is $5. Hope y'all can make it!
