Good news for all you book dweebs out there: Our twisted sister literary publication KITTY SNACKS has started a monthly book "klub" and their first selection is a winner. THE RED TRUCK by native Mississippian Rudy Wilson is a bit of a lost classic, released in 1987 by Knopf and edited by the infamous GORDON LISH (whose work with Raymond Carver, Barry Hannah and Amy Hempel has earned him a cult following and a controversial reputation)...
If you're interested in participating and you're near Oxford, Mississippi, SQUARE BOOKS is offering the title at a 10% discount. However, the editors do ask those interested to respond via Facebook event invitation or blog comment so that the bookstore can get an idea of how many to order.
If you aren't near Square Books (although they're excellent with handling shipping requests), you can buy THE RED TRUCK directly from the publisher HERE.
No "meeting" is planned to discuss this book, so hit up the forum on the Kitty Snacks Facebook group to talk about your reading experience if you're into that sort of thing. We hope you guys will join us!
p.s. We hear the third Kitty Snacks issue is coming along nicely and it's gonna rip.
