AFTERSCHOOL OXFORD, a new site for North Mississippi community event listings, has launched. Started by Erin Abbott, founder of the MOTEL ART SHOW SERIES and one of our favorite photographers, this calendar is much needed considering escalating complaints that certain "local" publications only provide listings for advertisers (which is not only a lame policy but also an unethical one).AFTERSCHOOL OXFORD promises to list everything at no charge, from music to visual art to theater and everything in between. All you have to do is e-mail Erin, and she'll post it within a week. We're particularly pumped to have Memphis listings thrown in for good measure. Sometimes we forget it's only an hour drive.
